– MEET THE FOUNDER-
DR. L. R. THORNTON
Dr. L. R.Thornton is the founder, executive directive of administration and instructor. She has over 30 years of nursing experience working in various settings in healthcare to including long term care, hospitals, mental health and nursing education.
Her love, compassion and commitment for educating students, by giving them tools to improve, was fuel for her desire to begin a CNA program. She believes that education is the key to open the door for progress, and knowledge is the power (DUNAMIS) that can cause change in an individual destiny.

Our vision is to provide a learning environment and opportunity which will allow each student to learn and become proficient as a nursing assistant, and to enhance the quality of life for the people we serve.
Our mission is to prepare competent nursing assistants, who are knowledgeable, with a caring attitude, who are able to provide nursing care and/or coordinate care for clients in the long-term care, home health, hospice, and hospital settings. Graduate nursing assistants should be prepared to use their skills, knowledge, and understanding for giving safe, quality health care to their clients.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Certified nursing assistants, or CNAs, assist nurses and other medical staff by providing direct personal care for patients. This entry-level position is quite demanding and is best suited for someone who genuinely cares for others’ well-being.
Test Prep For State Exam
Students will engage in comprehensive review sessions covering key concepts, medical terminology, and practical skills to ensure their success. We enable students to build confidence and excel in their preparations for the rigorous state examination.
Certified Medication Tech
Through hands-on practical experience and expert instruction at Dunamis Health Care Academy, students will gain a deep understanding of medication administration, dosage calculations, and medication safety protocols.
